I’m so glad I’m leaving this god awful state! Who votes yes on an amendment that is clearly unconstitutional? The way Amendment 1 is worded it doesn’t just take away the rights of gay couples to get married, if there is domestic violence or they have kids and separate they don’t have the right to civil action against each other or visiting rights to their kids. I’m outraged! I cannot believe that something like this is even an issue today, it feels more like we’re stuck in the 50’s or something equally as bigoted. Way to go North Carolina for making it clear to our kids and everyone else in the world that it is legal to take away basic constitutional and human rights and keep people who love each other from having the same rights as any other couple.
